As far as Lutron Electronics is concerned, integrators should never install a security system without integrating some form of HVAC, lighting and shade control. But you’d be surprised how many security systems are still installed as stand-alone, non-integrated devices.
As a run-up to a full slate of training planned for ISC West in Las Vegas, April 10-12, Lutron (booth 14125) offers these 10 ways to program its RadioRA 2 wireless lighting with security:
AWAY Mode: Lights turn off, slightly lower shades, adjust temperature point down.
Emergency/PANIC: Initiate “Full Flash” in which all lights turn on/flash and shades raise. (Obviously, this is not the same programming response that should be used for silent PANIC mode.)
ARM/AWAY Mode: Lights turn off, slightly lower shades, adjust temperature point down, timeclocks adjust.
DISARM Mode: Entry lights turn on, shades raise, temperature point adjusts (up or down).
Intrusion Alarm: Lights turn on/flash, shades raise.
Timeclock: Lights adjust according to a pre-scheduled time of day.
Lutron will also offer at ISC West 15-minute, in-booth training sessions, including “Growing your business with Lutron” and individual sessions on integrating a RadioRA 2 system with Alarm.com, DSC, Elk, HAI, and Honeywell products. A RadioRA 2 starter solution package will be given away at the end of each session.
